Before You Visit WCPL's Genealogy Department:
Registration Log
Please sign registration in genealogy area every time you come. The registration log provides the library with statistics on how many people are using the genealogy collection.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are not allowed in the Genealogy Section.
Copier Use
A copier is located on the west end of the main circulation desk. You may use it yourself or ask for help from the staff. The copier is black and white only. Cost of copies per page:

11 x 17 - $0.30
2-Sided Copies:
8 1/2 x 11 - $0.25
8 1/2 x 14 - $0.25

Microfilm Machines
The Microfilm cabinet is located in front of the information desk in the east side of the building. The digital microfilm reader/printer is located on the other side of the information desk next to the Online Catalog Computer. A Second Microfilm reader is located next to the microfilm cabinet but it does not print.

Microfilm
Computers
Computers with internet are available for public use, but they are not in the genealogy area.
Technology: Laptops, Cameras, Scanners & Phones
You may bring laptop computers, however, the library has very few electrical outlets available for use, so plan accordingly.
Scanners and cameras may not be used on any copyrighted materials. Use of scanners or cameras on uncopyrighted material will be limited and only with the permission of the genealogy librarian.
So as not to disturb other patrons, please do not make or answer calls on cell phones in the library. You may make or answer calls in either the upstairs or downstairs lobby of the library.
